Is Elta free for students?

Yes. The Free plan includes Elta and the Voice Agent with 100,000 tokens a day, and no credit card is needed. Student teams do not need a special plan to get started. Install Elta from the Chrome Web Store and share a spreadsheet or report you are working on.

What do student teams use Elta for?

Student teams use Elta as a study partner on shared spreadsheets and reports. Typical jobs are working through an energy budget for a solar car or a Formula SAE build, going over a lab report before submission, and untangling a team spreadsheet before small slips spread into later calculations.

  • Energy budgets: see how the sums and units hold up across a whole season of runs.
  • Lab reports: method, arithmetic, units and significant figures.
  • Design calculations: a quick second look before a design review.
  • Learning: ask Elta to explain why a step works and talk it through.

Can my chapter or team set it up together?

Yes. Each member installs Elta and uses their own account, and the team shares the screen it wants to work through. If your chapter would like help getting started, or a short walkthrough for your members, write to info@exergy-lab.com and tell us about your team.

What about academic integrity?

Follow your instructor's policy on AI tools, since rules differ by course. Elta is built to help you understand and improve your own work, not to produce it for you. If your course restricts AI help, ask before you share graded work with any assistant.
