Today we're launching Elta by Exergy Lab, a technical assistant that works with you in real time.
Elta lives in your browser. Share a screen, a window, a tab or an image, talk the problem through out loud, and get help with the work in front of you.
Why we built it
Technical work keeps getting more complex, and the people doing it are stretched thin. A good colleague who can see what you see, talk it through and help you get it done is worth a lot.
We started Exergy Lab to help people make better decisions about the physical world. Elta is the most direct version of that idea: an assistant that works next to you, in your own tools, and thinks the problem through with you.
What Elta does
- Voice. Talk through your work in real time. Interrupt, push back and ask follow-ups.
- Screen share. Elta sees only what you choose to share, and you can stop at any time.
- Technical help. Elta works through calculations, spreadsheets and models with you, and tells you the units and assumptions behind what it does.
- Computer use. Elta can complete routine steps for you. Anything risky waits for your approval.
Built to be trusted with real work
Elta only sees what you choose to share. It asks before it takes any bigger step. And it tells you the units and assumptions behind what it does, so you can follow its thinking and steer it.
An example
An engineer could share a heat-recovery spreadsheet and say: “Help me work out why this heat duty looks too high.” Elta spots a flow entered in kg/h where the formula expects kg/s, explains the effect, and can fix the cell once you say go. Keep Computer Use off if you want Elta to only read and talk.
Get started
Free for Chrome. Microsoft Edge and Firefox are coming soon. The Free plan includes 100,000 tokens a day. Plus ($19/month) adds document and spreadsheet workflows, and Pro ($99/month) adds extended research and automation.

Help us make it better
We want to hear what works and what does not. Join the Elta tester program, use it on your real work, and tell us what you think. Testers who share feedback are rewarded.
